Bethesda-Chevy Chase junior feuled by a new fire
Full Description:
Sophomore Austin Cooley sees a growth spurt
It was one year ago in what B-CC’s Austin Cooley called ‘‘the worst time in my entire life.” Then a sophomore, Cooley had to leave the boys basketball team just three weeks before the playoffs, because he was academically ineligible after the second grading period.
A year later, the 6-foot-4 junior guard stands as one of the most complete players in the county. He’s averaging 18.0 points over his last five games for a team that hasn’t lost in the state of Maryland since Dec. 12. And he’s a serious college prospect — both on the court, and in the classroom.
