Announces
A Community-Wide Spring Cleaning Event to Benefit
The Salvation Army
The Village’s Public Works Department will collect items throughout the Village on
Monday, June 14, 2004.
You must contact the communications center by 12-noon, June 7th to provide a list of items for donation and items should be placed at the curb for collection, no later than the evening of Sunday, June 13.
PLEASE NOTE: If rain is forecast for either Sunday, June 13 and/or Monday, June 14, the collection will be postponed to the following Monday (June 21).
All clothes items must be bagged separately from all other items. i.e., cookware, toys, etc.
All books must be placed in boxes.
Any mattresses and/or box springs must be donated as a set.
Donations of furniture and large appliances (i.e., freezers, washer, dryers, etc.) are accepted, however, the following items are excluded.
The Salvation Army will not accept the following items:
*Built-in Appliances *Building Materials
*Built-in Bookcases or Cabinets *Bulk Computer Equipment
*Console TV/Stereo *Hospital Beds
*Office Dividers or Metal Office Desks *Sinks and Toilets
*Chemicals of any kind including Paint and Pesticides *Water/Platform Beds
*Mattresses with tears, stains or odors *Plastic Swimming Pools
*Recalled Consumer Product Items *Upright Pianos over 46”tall
*Wall-to-Wall Carpet and Padding *Water Heaters and Water Softeners
*Upholstered Furniture with stains, odors or requiring repairs (except Antiques)
*Car Batteries and Used Car Parts, Including Tires & Rim
Forms to claim a tax deduction will be dropped off at the time of collection.
Based on the response to and experience with this event, it may be repeated next year.
